Brancaster Staithe Sea Shanty Festival
Brancaster Staithe Sea Shanty Festival at The Jolly Sailors
Join us at The Jolly Sailors, Brancaster Staithe, for one of North Norfolk's most popular maritime celebrations as the Brancaster Staithe Sea Shanty Festival returns from 11th–13th September 2026.
Across three unforgettable days, enjoy the sound of traditional sea shanties, folk music and maritime entertainment performed by 24 talented shanty groups across six venues in the heart of Brancaster Staithe. Whether you're a lifelong folk music fan or simply looking for a fantastic weekend by the coast, the festival promises an incredible atmosphere filled with live music, great food and local hospitality.
The Jolly Sailors is proud to be one of the festival's host venues, welcoming performers and visitors throughout the weekend. Settle in with a pint of local ale, enjoy freshly prepared food and soak up the lively atmosphere as singers bring centuries-old seafaring songs to life.
On Sunday at 11:00am, everyone is invited to take part in a Sea Shanty Workshop at Brancaster Staithe Village Hall, led by Stuart Green—perfect for anyone wanting to learn the ropes and join in the fun.
The festival proudly supports Wells-next-the-Sea RNLI and National Coastwatch Brancaster, helping raise awareness and support for two vital coastal charities.
Book your table at The Jolly Sailors and make a weekend of outstanding live music, delicious food and the unique community spirit that makes the Brancaster Staithe Sea Shanty Festival one of Norfolk's must-visit annual events.
